hannah. among other things.

pratt thinks it's hi.larious to call me hannah.

he does it all the time.  ALL THE TIME.  he smiles when he says it because he knows it drives me crazy.

yesterday he asked me to call him "julian" instead of "pratt".  this is from olivia.  the show.  her bff is julian, and he apparently likes the name.  but he doesn't pronounce it correctly.  it comes out sounding like "yew li ann".

he wakes up from naps/bedtime and says, "i took weally long nap!"  night before last, i put him to bed at 830 pm.  at 9, i hear his door shut, the fan turns off, and i heard a pitter patter upstairs.  when he didn't find us in our room, he came to the gate.  clint said, "oh!  look who's not asleep!"  and pratt goes, "uh, i took weally long nap, dad.  i up now."

i said, "uh...you did!?  are you sure?!"

and he goes, "uh...no.  i not.  i not take wong nap.  but i up now."

he's very wild.  like he might need medication, wild.  if he has an audience, it's even worse.  i really don't know what i'm going to do with another child.

i was reading my friend allie's blog today and i realized that i will never have a daughter who is calm and sweet.  no.  i'll have two boys who feed off each other.  who run all over this house.  who are loud and aggressive and swing from tree branches and jump off anything they can climb.

i'm reading "bringing up boys" now and it's making me feel a lot better.  i envy those moms who are so laid back with their kids.  who don't seem to hear how loud they are.  i'm trying to be more like that.  (within reason, of course).

it's just so different than me and spencer.  my dad would FLIP OUT if he were here most days.  he would literally DIE at how loud pratt is.  he claims he's never seen it.  i don't know how that's even possible.

anyway, that's what's on my mind today.  i'm so thankful for my many, many blessings!

we've had such a short week already.  daddy was home with us monday and tuesday.  and he's off friday too.  yippee!!!  i love when he's home.  i really do.  i him being here.  it's like vacation without having to travel.

okay. happy hump days!

I like this post. :)

Abby tells us that she took a "really long nap" too. It's usually followed by "I wake up now! Oh, look! Baby dolls wake up too! And doggie! And Monkey! We all wake up now!"

Kids are cool, y'know?

2 boys is going to be A.wesome. Embrace the boyness and run with it!

It will be loud, and it will be wild, and it will all turn into white noise when you are home together. Mom calls and says- uh, do I need to call you back, are they okay? And I realize that I don't even pay attention to it sometimes. The thing that is going to be AWESOME is that they will be loud and scream and play WITH each other- probably less of the AT each other like Madeline and Tucker. It's hard to separate toys and stuff all the time Hannah! I tried to integrate their playing today and built a railroad AROUND one of Madeline's castles but Tucker wouldn't stop making the drawbridge open (which was ruining Madeline's unicorn's hiding place) and Madeline couldn't stand it. Whew, I'm tired just writing about it!
2 boys is gonna rock- give 'em some mud and a couple of sticks. They'll be happy for hours together!

I love this post. Don't worry about the wildness. They start calming down around the age of 5. I seriously kept questioning if I should medicate my son. I know this doesn't give you much hope as far as with two so soon, but they will have so much fun when they can run and play together :)

Oh my word, Hannah, that little paragraph about how your Dad never would have let you and Spencer.....
Uh, yeah, I know what you mean! I've said to my parents, my Dad ESPECIALLY, "where were you people when I was growing up?!" or "Who are you?!" Once when I was talking about my Dad not acting like the Dad that I knew, Kyle said to me "that's because this person isn't your Dad, he's Jackson and Sawyer's PA, different person"! Yep, totally!

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
