24 week visit.

yesterday i had my 24 week visit. it was the gestational diabetes visit. ugh, ugh, ugh.

last time i didn't mind it. when i was pg with pratt. i actually remember thinking it tasted like koolaid with too much sugar. not this time. this time i thought i was gonna puke on the way there. it will just all sitting there. on my stomach. being cold and heavy and syrupy.

i passed though. so yay me!

the good news is that my guardian angel went and screwed the scale up before i got on it. because according to the scales, i haven't gained near as much weight as i thought. my body looks totally different this time, but i've gained about 6 pounds less now than i had with pratt. but you can't tell by looking at me. idk.

dr. s. came in and said what everyone pregnant woman wants to hear, "you really look great, hannah."

ahhhh. it's like music to my ears. and then immediately he followed it with, but you're severely anemic. big shock. i'm always anemic. i'm anemic when i don't have a baby growing inside me.

my hemaglobin was at 5. i think when i was around 24 weeks with pratt it was a 6. but before i got pregnant it was a 9. so...i mean, it's all relative, right?

i'm now on iron twice a day, plus a prenatal with iron. it's safe to say that i will never "sit" again. well, i guess in may. but from here until may 19th...i'm done with the sitting. that's horrible news. horrible.

we heard the baby's heartbeat. and everything else is good. my bp is good. 105/70.

this baby kicks all.the.time. seriously. that's all he does. just flip flop around in there and kick. i told pratt the other day i wanted him to talk to the baby. because i'm fairly certain that the baby has heard his voice. i mean, he's probably heard pratt's voice more than anyone else's. cause you know, he talks all the time.

so, pratt started talking to him. and the baby just started going CRAZY.

so cute. have great weekends!!

You never mentioned that you're anemic even when you're not pregnant! Now I feel bad for telling you to take Flintstones instead of the prenatal vitamin because "you don't need all that iron until later in your pregnancy". I'm really not an idiot, I promise. I just didn't know you had a history of anemia. Two words...Mira Lax.

About Me

i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
