the flowers are still standing...

...as dr. venkman would say.

we have a ghost. he lived in maumelle with us...and has apparently made the move with us.

i'm assuming it's a man because he would turn the tv on in pratt's room in maumelle and watch espn. at least, that's the channel it was always on. and yes, the tv would just "magically" come on.
i mean, it's not really "magic", it's a ghost.

i've always believed. i guess because my dad has...and we have one in camden too. he turns off my tv when i'm asleep, and he'll turn off the lamp by my bed if i forget. he was there the entire time i lived there growing up. he's only shown himself to my dad. but dad has seen him walk through walls. and the cats see him too.

okay, if you're still with me...and haven't called clint to tell him to get home asap because i've lost it...then here is the proof.

we have these two things sitting on our fireplace. just decoration. one is tall and sort of leans over, the other is short, and squatty. well, last night before i went to bed...i realized that someone had sat on the fireplace and pushed them back. so i put them in the correct place...the tall one on the left, and the short one right next to the tall one, on the right.

last night, around 2, i heard something. it woke me up. sounding like something scrapping against the floor. i didn't see yoda, and i assumed that she was doing something to make the noise. then at 5, i woke again to a noise. yoda was at my feet...so i assumed that i had dreamt the noise.

well..just now i was feeding pratt downstairs...and happened to look over at the fireplace. and the picture below...that's what i saw.

YES! the tall thing has bee moved to the very center of the fireplace. like, the EXACT CENTER! you count the length of it in bricks...and it's the exact center.

so he's decided to show himself to us again. not too long ago, he moved ace's bed over to the side of my bed. i mean, unless ace dragged the bed over. but like dad said, "ace ain't that talented."

i hope he's a friendly ghost. a part of me believes that he's a guardian angel for pratt. he arrived (or at least i noticed him) when we were getting pratt's room ready at the old house. so maybe that's what he is.

or maybe i'm just telling myself that to make me feel better. i dunno...

but i'm NOT imagining this. i mean, i probably DO have a few DSM diagnoses...but this isn't one of them.

I believe you. There is a ghost that lives in my parents' house, and what's interesting is that when I lived there I was totally content with it and never scared. And now? You couldn't pay me to spend the night in that place.

Anyway, you know my new home has been under construction. Well, a few weeks ago my brother installed the doorbell, and a few days after that it went off at 5:30 in the morning. I woke up and was kinda spooked...but I assumed that it had just malfunctioned.

Come to find out, that was the morning of the funeral of the woman from whom I bought the house. I had no idea she had even died. Can you believe that? It's almost like she was announcing it: "I'm outta here, guys!"

Okay that's just scary. But it seems your ghost has a sense of humor, which is nice.

We have a ghost at our house and we had one at my parent's house in Magnolia too. After my great-uncle Windell died, (my mom was his favorite niece) our TV in the living room, where no one would watch TV, would come on TNT whenever wrestling was on. The volume was always ear blasting too. BTW, wrestling was Uncle Windell's favorite! Also, we have doors that open by themselves. We always keep all the doors shut because of the dogs, and we'll come home and they will be open. Neil has even gone up to the attic with a gun to make sure no one was living up there.

A few months ago, we went to bed and the garland on our mantel was up there as usual. We woke up the next morning and it was wrapped up neatly in a circle and placed DIRECTLY in the center of our fireplace too. So weird!

We're the first people to live in our house, so I don't know where our ghost came from. I've never seen him, but I can feel someone in the house sometimes when I'm home alone...not scary though, just strange.

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
