yesterday my little boy turned ten months old. ten.months.old.
i'll just say this. it took me ten months to grow him...and that did not go near as fast as this has. it seems like just yesterday i was rocking him in his room. listening to him cry. wishing that time would speed up so that he could communicate and i'd really know what he needed. instead of just guessing. and well, maybe i shouldn't have wished.
let's see what our little boy has been up to.
he crawls faster than i can walk. and if he knows you're following him while he's crawling, every once in a while, he will look back and laugh...and then take off even faster. he pulls up on anything and everything. coffee table, baskets, walls, bookshelves, etc. you name it, he's pulled up on it.
he points at everything and everyone.
he loves to read. well, be read to. mostly eric carle books. he likes to turn the pages on his own. it's my favorite part of reading to him. oh, and he loves his baby einstein, "what do fish do" book. even though he gets his hand stuck in it sometimes.
he eats anything you put in front of him. honestly, i cannot think of anything he doesn't like. his all time favorite food is blackberries. he could eat an entire tub of them in one sitting. he loves waffles and blueberries. and strawberries. and bananas. edamame. black beans. purple hull peas. pineapple. white rice. string cheese. yo baby yogurt.
he is wearing 12 month clothing. usually. unless it's a onesie outfit. then it's 18 months. he's really long, but extremely thin. he wears size 4 diapers. he wears 6 to 12 month shoes. my favorites are robeez. they are the best. best sole for learning to walk, i understand.
he loves his blue and brown blanket that brandy gave us. actually, that brandy made him. and rebekah monogrammed it. so it's super special. he is a great sleeper. and a great napper. we're waking around 7, napping from 9 to 11. up until 130, napping until 3 or 330, and sleeping for good around 730 or 8. but if we're out and he can't nap, he's rarely fussy. it's so weird. i don't know why he's so good. honestly, i don't.
he is a better car rider now. but still doesn't completely dig it. i'm hoping if he ever weighs enough to turn him around, he'll enjoy it then..maybe.
he can pick up pretty much any food and pop it in his mouth. unless it's slimy. and then i need to help. he LOVES his bathtub time. he could stay in there until his skin is wrinkly like magda from "there's something about mary". he dances anytime he hears music. any and everytime.
he loves grocery shopping. loves looking at bright lights in stores. or fans. or anything sparkly. he loves painted toenails. and bright flip flops.
if we walk up fairly close to someone and they don't immediately speak, he will stare at them until they do.
he has two bottom teeth. he partially has a top tooth and is getting another top middle tooth.
he has trouble looking away from his dvd player in the car to make eye contact with you. when he gets sleepy, his two middle fingers go in his mouth and he grabs at my shirt. he likes to hold onto me with his right hand and sucks his two middle fingers.
he falls asleep most nights in his daddy's arms. and by most nights, i mean, unless he is so exhausted that he's overtired and can't fall asleep on someone. he knows that daddy will let him stay up later than mommy.
he is becoming more and more of a mommy's boy and i must admit that i absolutely love it.
one story to remember. we ate lunch at arby's the other day. just the three of us. and i had a regular roast beef. my fave. well, i picked some off for him. put it down on the table for him (after i had disinfected it, allie) and he would pick up each little piece and eat it. so seriously. never looked up at me or clint. just picked up some, put it in his mouth, picked up more, etc. etc. until it was all gone. then he would look up at us.
i love him more than i've ever loved anything else in my life. seeing him get up from a nap is probably my favorite time of the day.
he is the best thing that has ever happened to me and clint. hands down. the best thing.

I always love to read about your perspective on motherhood and Pratt. You and Clint are also the best thing that happend to Pratt.
Loveya.
I haven't seen you in over a week and I can't believe how you have changed in so little time. So precious. I love you little one.Hope to see you Monday. Maybe you and mom can come to Hot Springs and spend Sunday night with Sugar and me.
Your cookie
These babies grow up too fast. I can't handle it.
Seeing him in that chair- the same chair that you have taken so many pictures of him in over the last 10 months- kills me Hannah. It was YESTERDAY when he was propped up in that chair and only took up a tiny little area of it. You are such an amazing Mom. I love you.
I just can't get over what a KID he is! Really, he looks so much older than ten months...maybe because he is so tall and has hair. Hannah, he is so adorable! Can you believe how time seems to travel at the speed of light!
Now I need to get on top of things and post Vaughn's ten month post...it gets harder ever month to catch up.
You are a wonderful mother and these photos prove it! We will be in Hot Springs around the 24th...any chance we can meet this guy at last?
Hannah he really looks like a little baby. Our babies are seriously growing up.
I cant believe he can eat all that. I thought I had to do only baby food til one year. I am WAY off. I may need some tips!!
