you fink she knows who i am?
today we had a few items to grab at kroger. pratt wanted "blue ice cream" which is mint chocolate chip. he thinks the greenish tint is blue. so he calls it "blue ice cream". i've tried to correct him, but it's not worth the fight/headache/argument. he's 2. he knows everything.
i wanted the toffee apple dip. i don't know why. my friend laura was eating it the other night and i've been thinking about it for 3 days. so i needed some granny smith apples.
pratt told me that he didn't really want to ride in the buggy. the conversation went like this,
p: "i not ride in buggy today, mom. i not need gumball. and i not need to ride in buggy. i too big."
and that was that. i saved a quarter. and he got to push the buggy. this was the first time i've ever done this. it was around 845 am, so i knew we would be alright. there weren't too many people for him to push the buggy into.
he would push and then walk alongside me. we have a tag-a-long handle, but of course, i forgot it at home. he did really well. we ended up only buying one thing that we didn't really need. capri suns. he saw them on the end of an aisle, and said, "oh, mom. i fink i need these. they are so good. i get them for you. i put them in buggy. you not bend over."
i've decided that maybe this is the way to shop. take him extra early. and let him do all the heavy lifting. he helped me unload the groceries at the shelf check out too. there is the sweetest lady that works at that check out. she always says, "have a blessed day." i love her. i really do. and pratt does too.
as we were checking out, and he was helping me, i noticed he kept looking at her. he finally walked over to me and said, "hey mom. you fink she knows who i am?"
i said, "yes, i'm sure she recognizes you. why?"
never missing a beat, he said, "cause i not in the buggy. she not know me. you fink she knows me? you fink she sees me help? you fink she give me a sticker for helping?"
she did. :) and she heard him and was laughing. just add that onto the list of why i heart kroger. i feel like we're family.
so this morning was good. pratt's so big. and it's so sad.

- i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
