valentines day.

pratt had a pretty good valentine's day.  i took him to walmart on monday and let him pick out whatever candy he wanted AND any balloon he wanted.  the balloon was a big deal.  i was really worried he was going to get one of those gigantic ones, but he stuck with a sponge bob one.  (of all things.  i can't stand sponge bob. and don't worry.  he DOES NOT watch that.  somehow he knows what it is.  but that show is horrible. )

he chose swedish fish candy and a sponge bob balloon.  and candy for coleman, carter, leyton and jill.  of course.  the highlight of his day was probably getting to go with clint to take their candy to them.  he pulled up in the driveway and leaned over to clint and said, "i'm so excited, dad!"  i think if stacy asked him, he'd move in.

this past weekend, pratt (with the help of cookie), gave me and spencer our valentine's day gift.  i received the following text from spencer friday night,

pratt picked this out for me!  i said i love it.  he said i do too.

apparently, mom took him to a little place back home.  they had lunch there, and then decided to pick out some presents for me and spencer.  the story goes that pratt climbed up on the counter, saw the heart shaped ring and said, "this one is perfect for sugar!"

and that was that.  :)

mine is square.  black and silver.  and i absolutely love it.  i've worn it every single day since saturday.  i'm sure that sugar has been wearing hers too.

when he sees that i have it on, he will come up and point to it and say, "i got that for you.  me and cookie.  do you wuv it, mommy!?"

so sweet.

today he got two more valentine presents.  we met my mom in little rock for lunch and a mall trip.  and pratt was surprised with two great presents.

here they are...

on the left is ladybug land.  they are small bugs that will eventually turn into larvae and then into ladybugs.  you give them food and water and that's it.  it's supposed to be really hard to kill them.  i'll let you know how that works out.  and on the right are caterpillars.  that will become butterflies.  there is a gigantic net that goes with them once they turn into a chrysalis.  we will then move them from the cup to the net.

he loves them.  both of them.  he wants them to be in his room so he can sleep with them.  and he wants to carry them everywhere he goes.  he's so excited about showing them to coleman tomorrow afternoon. as dorky as it sounds, they really are pretty educational.  we talked today about the life cycle of a ladybug.  we looked at the pictures and everything.

if you're interested, here is the website where mom found them.

and then just when he thought the gift giving was over, we walked out to get the mail and discovered a box on the front porch!

i adore this picture.  nana sent him some personalized m&ms for valentine's day.  they were red and white.  some said, "happy valentine's day" and the others said, "nana luvs pratt".  precious.

he got so excited when i pointed it out to him that they had his name on them!  he shrieked and smiled and said, "they do, mommy!  they do!"

he wanted nana to see that he was eating them already.  a boy after his mother's heart ;)

so thank you to cookie and nana for the wonderful presents for both me and pratt.

we truly feel so loved.

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
