time flies.

where has the time gone? i can't be turning into a person who only blogs once a week!? but it sure feels that way.

we've been busy. doing what? i'm not sure.

i think i'm trying to be a better wife/mom in general. i try to clean and clean while clint is working and pratt is sleeping. and pratt is so much more mobile now and curious and he finds something to do with nearly anything around him. this is incredibly nice.

i can do laundry with him right next to me. he loves the dryer. he loves to stand and press the button that makes the light go off. just laughs and laughs. so that keeps him occupied while i toss clothes back and forth. once i head to our room to put them up, he crawls as fast as he can to keep up with me and see where i'm going.

he likes to crawl around downstairs too. this makes me a total wreck because of the concrete floors. stained concrete is frightening when you've got someone on the brink of walking. i've cursed these floors sooo many times. i know we're just blessed to have a roof over our head...i know, i know.

pratt attended his first parade tuesday night. it was a tad bit frightening at first (see picture below. ha.) with all the loud noises. but he got used to it. and loved the horses at the end! who doesn't?!

yesterday he went to kids day out for the first time. and i kept myself occupied with things like the public library. manicures. pedicures. and cleaning the house...top to bottom. things that are more difficult with a toddler.

he did really well at kdo. i called around 11 and checked on him. the director (who is a sweet friend from church and ja) told me that he was doing so well. that he hadn't cried at all. he was playing with the other kids. when i got there at 2, he was happy to see me, but would have been content to stay with his sweet teacher a little while longer. :)

here he is with his report from his first day. it said he "had a wonderful day"...and he got a smiley face! yay, pratt! all without a single nap! whoa nelly.

we had barely pulled out of the parking lot before he fell fast asleep. he got a good nap once we got home.

clint and i have date night tomorrow night. woo hoo! i'm pretty excited. he has a ce course instead of "work" so we'll be doing something fun for sure.

i've been thinking about how much has changed in a year. a year ago, date night was every night. it really was. just me and clint. we must have been so incredibly bored :)

last year at this time...let's see. we moved into this house on labor day. tuesday night was our first night here. we slept ON THE FLOOR tuesday and wednesday. yes, that's right. the FLOOR. a big ole pregnant me on the floor!!!! thursday night we slept in the guest room. and friday we drove to the condo to get our king mattress from my parents. they bought a new one and gave us their old one. which by the way, mom...clint said was "the best gift ever" just last night. :) friday night was the first night in our room, in our big bed. and i remember thinking, "i'm going to carry this mattress wherever i need to so i have this baby this weekend!"

it was friday night that i went into labor. heavy contractions. bad ones. kept me up all night long. wow. all that...just 365 days ago.

time really does fly.

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
