a rough patch.

if i'm being honest, then i'd say this past week has been a hard one.

i don't know why. wait, yes i do. because of mother nature. that's all i'll say. in case there are any male readers. but i wasn't prepared. i mean, i knew. but when i found out i was pregnant in may, all i could think about was how i wouldn't have to buy any more ditties for quite some time.

heck, i even stopped clipping the coupons for them.

so it wasn't good. and then came the news that several of my friends are expecting babies right around the same time as i was. and suddenly i remembered what i felt like when EVERYONE was getting engaged and i had been dating a certain someone for YEARS I TELL YOU, YEARS. and he had yet to pop the question. and i was dying. anyway, it hurt.

it hurt because i was genuinely happy for these people. but i also yearned to be pregnant. and so i hung out alone for a while. didn't want to act like i was okay. because i wasn't. i felt sort of like simon cowell. when he talked to oprah. and he said that he hated acting like he was okay. that he was happy. but that given a few days, he would come out better. on the other side.

and so i'm feeling like i'm coming out. on the other side. maybe even a little better.

thank you to those of you who randomly emailed me. telling me you were praying for me. it's amazing what God will put on our hearts if we are listening. so thank you. thank you for praying for me. even when you didn't know what to pray specifically. i love you girls so much.

pratt is good. he's growing. and talking non stop. it's so great. he's such a joy to be around. except when he needs a nap. and then it's just horrible.

he's funny and cute. and sweet. and he loves other kids. if he had it his way, he would have coleman and leyton here all the time. every day.

he loves to hide. behind curtains. under his bed. in the laundry room. everywhere.

he answers any question asked of him on cartoons. it's so funny. i think he just repeats whatever was said last. so funny. we're in the process of moving most of his toys upstairs. we are making clint's office a playroom. we bought some great elfa shelving at the container store last week. clint put it up and it looks great. there are 12 baskets. and they will hold most of his stuff. i'm looking for a little table with some chairs too. we went antique shopping today but didn't find anything we really had to have.

i have so much to be thankful for. my life is better than i could have ever imagined. i will continue to accept things that break my heart. because i know that it just makes me more able to stand in someone else's shoes. and isn't that what life is really about? understanding and loving others.

absolutely. i think so.

have wonderful tuesdays.

Hannah, I commend you for being so open and honest! I'm not a public honest emotions person, more of a behind a cup of coffee face-to-face. I simply know that you have to be helping people, people you probably don't even know; they read what you go through or think and realize they aren't alone! Such an awesome thing!
And that last paragraph of this post... well, that one spoke to me, I simply love it! Thank you!

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
