our morning.

i took this picture this morning. i felt like it was the epitome of our mornings.

oatmeal.
it's what he eats most mornings. the kroger brand. variety pack. blueberry, banana, peach and strawberry. banana is his least favorite. i don't blame him. he goes through the packs, holding them up for me to see so i can tell him what it is. every morning we go through all four kinds. he will think about it for a second, then we move on to the next pack. after i've named all four, he'll choose one. he'll dump the package in the bowl while i heat the milk. he always spills a little. because he's 22 months old. and i always take a deep breath and try to remember it doesn't really matter. because before i know it, he will be 22 years old and i will wish he was sitting on my countertop making oatmeal with me.

the tv. specifically, beth hunt on channel 7. she's his favorite. he will just smile when she comes on. it's pretty sweet. he's loved her since he was just a baby. when commercials come on, he points at the letters and numbers and recites them. and i praise him. and he smiles.

pajamas. those gap pajamas. there are none better. these are from last years halloween from nana. but i can't put them up just yet. he's still so skinny. they fit in the weight department. not so much in the height :)

his feet.
they look just like his daddys. and i seriously think he could swing from limbs with those toes.

i can't hardly look at this picture without realizing just how old he is. he's so big. so tall. so grownup.

my heart hurts to not be pregnant. because i know he would love someone to play with. but at the same time, i'm thankful for the months ahead that it will just be me and him. because with all that goes on during the day, the countless moments it's just me and him, at night...when i'm putting him to bed, the old phrase, "you can sleep when you're dead" comes to mind.

and i wish i could stretch out our days. i wish that i could keep him this age.

some nights i sneak in his room and sit on his floor and just pray for him. for his life. for his health. for his daddy and me. i pray that we know what to do when something comes our way and we are overwhelmed.

pratt, i love you so much. thank you for the morning hugs. the random kisses throughout the day. we are such lucky parents.

xoxo, mommy.

What a sweet post Hannah! Gave me tears. Thought of you often and prayed specifically for you and future pregnancies. Can't wait to hear the news, whenever it may be, that another baby Fulks will be born. What a blessed child that will be. You inspire me as a mom!

I'm crying boohoo alligator tears. ESP when u said stretch the days out and you can sleep when you die. So so precious and true. Im holding Will while he takes his nap the whole nap. Bc i thought that very same thing-- hes about to be so big and too big to hold. Then i read this and melted.

you know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams. - dr. seuss

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
