when i was feeling nearly faded as my jeans...
so dinner time for pratt comes around 545 to 6. i try to push it back so that clint is here for it...but it doesn't always work out.

i'm a schedule person. i mean, not really totally obsessive about it...but i think it's good for pratt. for as young as he. so that he knows what to expect.
so our new thing in our schedule...the ipod.
a couple of years ago, my dad gave me a great bose speaker set-up for my ipod. you know, you just dock your ipod into it..and play it. great present, huh? yes. it was. and totally unexpected. it's one of those presents that my dad gets and doesn't tell anyone about. and on christmas morning, he is so proud of himself. i love those presents.
anyway, during pratt's dinner, we play music. john mayer. james morrison. david gray. soothing music. music with lyrics. good lyrics. lyrics that count.

well, today i came across a song i forgot i had.
me and bobby mcgee.
that's right, the janis joplin. well, really the kris kristofferson.
pratt was getting kind of fussy. he was sick of sitting in his highchair. i was trying to finish our soup and cornbread. so he was stuck there. so...i did the only thing i knew to do...
DANCE, baby. dance!
and sing. like janis joplin. he LOVED it. and you know, she says, "i pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana..."
and so well...here is pratt's bandana. because i mean, you have to play the part, right?

good stuff! we are the puppets, they are the puppetmasters! way to embrace it!
I love that song. Kris Kristofferson was on Colbert not long ago and he was completely shy about writing that song!
Edward got us a Bose SoundDock like that when Ali was born. We took it to the hospital with us and it played almost the entire time we were there. Lots and lots of Jack Johnson and Five for Fighting. I set it up in her room after we got home from the hospital. She LOVED to listen to Elton John while she nursed! (She still likes it too!)
Just wait until he gets old enough to go to concerts. You will have a blast showing him the good music...music that he will appreciate forever. Ali and I went to Dan Zanes last weekend and it was AWESOME! I was exhausted from dancing in the aisles with her!
lol. good stuff. Dancing was the only thing that would calm jackson down when he'd had enough too. well, as you've seen, he's still dancing away to this day. love it.
