how to.

several months ago i had little experience in keeping two kids happy while i got ready for the day.

sure.  i could always get up really early.  like at 4.  but i'm not doing that.  because then by 3 pm, i'd be done for the day.  and i can't be done for the day until around 8.

so.  i learned to get ready really quickly.  and i learned to relax a little.

case in point....

pratt takes showers and "makes it into a swimming pool".  yes.

you read that right.

he takes a washcloth and puts it over the drain.  then he lets all the hot water fill the bottom of the shower. and he jumps around in there.  sometimes he squeezes all the shampoo out of the containers into his watering can (yes, it's in there) to make "honey".  i don't know.  other times he uses all the shaving cream to "wash" the doors.

i've given up on that mattering to me.  and if you're reading this and it matters to you, then either a.  you have no children or b. you are a robot.

max has just taken all his toys out of his basket.  and has eaten a tag off that big bird toy you see at his foot.  uh huh. yes.  the other day pratt and i were crafting (i use that term loosely) and max apparently got a hold of a 2 and 3 sticky foam number.  aaaaaaaaand he ate them.

how do i know?

oh no.  not because i watched him do it.  no.  he was in my lap.  facing away from me.

i know he did it because they showed up again in his diaper.  actually in his diaperS.  first the three.  then the two.

this is my life.  me getting ready while the two loves of my life destroy my bathroom.  it is only at this point, that you have truly lived.

and i wouldn't have it any other way.

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
