so. right now. 1:19 pm, on thursday july 7th, both my children are napping.
like for real. like both are in their own beds. this is not special or noteworthy for pratt. but it is a miracle for max.
if i were on stage...at the academy awards in a fancy dress...this would be my speech.
first, i'd like to thank God. for not taking me home like i've begged Him to do so often.
thank you to dayle and allyson for listening to me complain yesterday and reminding me that i needed to swaddle my child. no matter how much he resists it. he needs it and secretly wants it. he just doesn't realize it.
thank you to my husband. who is hasn't left me. and who continues to text things like, "i love you so much. i'm so glad you're my wife." even after i flip out on him 20 out of the 24 hours in a day.
thank you to my mother and my sister who have not called me crazy. even though i know they wanted to.
thank you to rachel who honest to goodness texts me daily. things like "how's my bff maximus" and "boys smell bad. like recess. what's the deal". i laugh daily because of those texts.
thank you to my first friend in my town, Stacy. thank you for loving Pratt as your own. And for coming over to save the day so many times. Also. Thank you to Larry for letting Pratt blow his nose into your hand on that hunting trip. I'm not even sure I'd let him blow his nose in my hand. And he's my child. You both are great.
and thank you to all of you who have left comments on my blog. and who have been praying for us. because i honestly don't deserve the love that i've been shown.
last, but not least, thank you to pratt. for telling me numerous times a day that you love me. and that you are so happy that i'm your mommy.
and i'll wrap this up by saying, jeff lewis, if you're watching...please call me! i think we could be best friends.
oh, and save darfur.
that would be my speech. i'm not really sure that darfur even needs to be saved...but i know that ryan gosling wore a shirt once that said that. and let's face it. he's super cute. so...save darfur. sound goods. and i really do love africa. everything about it. i do.
but for serious. this is a milestone. both babies sleeping. i should go do something productive. instead, i think i'll go pee. ALONE. because i haven't done that in oh....2 years and 10 months. something like that.

About Me

- i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
