several times throughout the day, i'll wish i had the ability to stop time. and keep pratt at that exact moment for the entire rest of the day. he says some of the funniest things. with this sweet little voice.
don't get me wrong. he can be incredibly disrespectful. and do the exact OPPOSITE of what you ask him to do. even if you use positive language. like, "let's walk really carefully so we don't fall" instead of "don't run!" doesn't matter. he's running before i can even get the phrase out. and i start to wonder if i've lost my mind about this second child. things like, "i can't even handle this kid...what makes me think i can handle two of them!?" start to buzz around.
but...there are times when he's really sweet. and kind. and it's those moments i think it will be so great to have another baby. to love someone else like i love him.
this morning as we were walking down the stairs, he said, "oh look, there's yoda mom!". he went on (because he really DOES talk non stop), "mom, i love yoda. she's a cat. black and white. and i love her. i love ty ty too. and grapes. and hot dogs. maybe i have a hot dog for breakfast?"
it's always a random assortment. kinda like that commercial where the people all have search overload. you mention a noun to pratt and he just runs with it.
would you like a banana pratt?
banana. yummy. i love bananas. monkeys eat bananas. monkeys say o o ah ah.
that really is what it's like around here. one subject to another in 0.3 seconds.
while in dallas this weekend, he was playing at dave & busters with clint. we talked him into that instead of chuck e cheese's. clint asked if he wanted to play skee ball. pratt's response, "i'd love to!"
that's his new go to phrase, "i'd love to!"
he gets it from clint. when he asks clint if he'll play animal farm or choo choos with him, clint always says, "i'd love to!". it's just so funny that he knows when it's an appropriate response.
he also has started saying, "i'm fine" in response to certain requests made of him.
me: pratt, come over here so we can blow your nose.
him: i'm fine. (of course, that means he's not coming).
me: pratt, would you like some more fruit?
him: i'm fine.
he's getting so big. it's both wonderful and heartbreaking.
have wonderful mondays. short weeks! yay!!

About Me

- i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
