dear pratt.

dear pratt,

you were a busy little boy yesterday. while i drove to texarkana, you spend the morning with cookie and julie. they took you to barbara jeans. here's how happy you were about it...

this is your new face. it was funny at first. now, well...now it's getting out of control. you make this face ANYTIME something doesn't go your way. yes...you do.

they took you to eat at loca luna and you had a wonderful time. so much so that uncle jeff texted me and said that you were so sweet that it made him ALMOST want another baby. you flirted with all the waitresses there and uncle jeff let you ring up tickets on the computer. you LOVED it.

yesterday afternoon, we buried your great-grandmother. while dad and i went to the funeral, you stayed with grandma teddy bear. from the moment dad took you inside, you reached for her. i love that feeling. i know what it feels like to be on the receiving end...and it's so great for me and your daddy to see how much you love other people...and to know you're loved by so many.

grandma teddy bear kept you. i'm sure she read to you and played with as many toys as you could pull out of her toy closet. when you daddy was little, she always let him color. she has told me that she always kept paper on hand for him to draw and write. and many books for him to read. as you get older, she will for sure be one of your favorite people. she's certainly one of mine.

the greatest and nana returned after the funeral. when dad and i got back from the burial, you four were having a great time! we ate seafood gumbo that was scrumptous. and then got to visit for a long time.

we followed up with a trip to check on papaw and pops. while we were there, you got to visit with erin, and aunt pam and uncle max. you loved uncle max. of course you do. he's your pops' brother, and he's a sweet, sweet man. he let you rub your fingerprints all over his glasses. pops played chopsticks on the piano and let you help.

pops is what we call musically talented. the man can play any instrument. i hope that you get that from your dad and your pops. you have long fingers...so maybe that will mean you play the guitar and piano well. let's hope so. girls love the guitar. trust me on this.

when we left there, we went by to see sonny and vickie and danielle. they missed your bday party and had a surprise gift for you! a radio flyer tricycle! you LOVED it! it has a little bell and everything. i will post pictures as soon as vickie sends some to me!

you were such a trooper yesterday. i know you were completely exhausted by the time we headed home at 9. but you were an angel while we visited everyone. so thank you. thank you for being such a wonderful little boy.

we love you so much.

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
