well, nana introduced him to bubbles at uncle dougs wedding...and needless to stay, he loved those too. i found the small wand today and here are some pictures.

what else has been happening around here?
um, i'm planning pratt's birthday party. had you asked me if i'd be planning something 2 weeks out, 2 months ago...i would have said you were crazy and of course not. i would have said something about how he's turning 1...and parents go overboard with parties. and that i wouldn't be one of those parents.
hahahahahahaha.
i'm one of those parents. i have 3 lists. three. yes. with everything from plates to party favors to balloons listed.
it's his first party. and while he won't remember it, i will. and the rest of the family will. and one day we can tell him the story. about how his mom couldn't come downstairs to enjoy the party because she was an emotional basketcase and cried the entire time.
other than that, let's see...um, i've menu planned this entire week.
all thanks to the september issue of southern living.
tonight was bbq pork in a crock pot. monday is baked ziti, salad and texas toast. tuesday is "taco tuesday" with shrimp tempura tacos. wednesday is chicken stir fry. thursday we have a birthday party to attend...and at some point during the week, i'll make black bean soup and mexican cornbread for lunches/leftovers.
and friday night we have the salt bowl. benton vs. bryant. which reminds me that i have to get a benton shirt. cari, don't hate me. we can still be friends. i promise. :)
and saturday...well, saturday we have the first razorback game of the season! yay!
oh, and i'm putting my fall stuff up. the cornucopia is on my front door. i'm burning pumpkin candles. and tomorrow i'm hoping to get to hobby lobby for more decoration!
okay. i'm off to bed. exhausted. have great weeks!

OOOH yum!! Your recipes for this week look so good! Will you pass along the ones you enjoy! Have a good week and happy party planning!
You are the ultimate mother/housewife....and it would be easy to hate you for this post, but I am actually happy for you. You obviously have a gift, doing all that you do. Soak it up and pat yourself on the back. It's great. I am happy for you. Just promise me you won't get competitive with other Mamas because as you may already know...other women do get off on feeling like they are the BEST in every way. No worries for you...you are good people.
As far as Pratt's party...like I told you on the phone...Juliette had a ridiculous, crazy huge first bday bash...and I have no regrets. Vaughn...well, he will be happy if I just let him push the green button on the xbox...I mean, that would make his year! Poor second child...it's true what they say. Give Pratt knuckles from Vaughn Ed.
