all things considered.

as the woman on npr says. i've been thinking of some things lately. it's random.

1. only people with children or those pregnant should be allowed to use drive through windows at fast food restaurants. being lazy isn't an excuse. enjoy being able to get out of the car and actually walk in. just for the sake of walking. even if you're not going to enjoy your food inside the restaurant. enjoy the fact that if you are interested, you can go inside in a hurry. like it might only take you 5 minutes. whereas it will take a pregnant person much longer. it's hard getting out of the car when you get big. and with a kid, it's almost impossible. leads me to number 2...

2. why are car seats so freaking heavy...even without a baby in it? i need one like jan had on the office. the orbit, i think. i've heard they are much lighter. it's impossible for me to hold that seat, and open a door at the same time. i have to put the seat down, and then open the door, and then hold it with my butt, and then pick the seat up...get it? it takes forever. and this just reiterates why only those pregnant or with children should get to use drive throughs. and of course, those with any type of disability.

3. pratt hates what i love the most. for example, i would love to sleep all day. he's not so interested. he'd much rather be up, staring at the fan. i love taking baths. him, sometimes they're okay, other times, not so much. there is no rhyme or reason to this. i would love to sit in a chair that vibrates. him, no thank you. i would love to swing all day long. and what makes this even better..is that you don't have to hold onto the metal part of the swing handle. that stuff always makes your hands stink. and then you have to go in from recess and all the kids smell like metal. yuck. he'd rather not swing.

4. for the rest of my life, i will always consider how whatever i'm about to do will affect his life. yes, i did this to some extent with my husband, but even more now it seems.

5. why does formula have to smell like agar? everytime i smell it, i feel like i'm back in science class.

6. there is something so wonderful about holding him, and having his little arm draped around my neck. it's heavenly.

7. i need to begin writing thank you notes to my parents for putting up with me and my crap for 29 years. i cannot believe they haven't walked away. seriously, clark. seriously...

drive throughs: amen. same goes for parking spaces and specialty aisles at any check-out line. i'd lobby capitol hill (or my local walmart) daily if i thought it would get pregnant women/women toting children more priviledges.

car seat: just wait til it rains.

bath time: have you or Clint tried holding Pratt in the shower? our kids loved it, even when they were teeny. something about snuggling.

thank you notes: i have found the random text message works just as well. and saves a stamp. grandparents love to be reminded that they are grandparents because of their kids.

Formula tastes vile, I tried it...but they say babies just love it. I'm starting it with Vaughn, and he gulps it down like me and my diet coke. Lurves it!
Car seats....try it with suicide doors in a crowded parking lot.
They should have parking spots up close...esp when it is raining or snowing..and up here, it snows and snows. I have to walk fifty yards on ice with a heavy baby carrier and a four year old? That's BS!
SO he's not into the bouncer or the swing? Hmmmm. Yeah, just get in the bath with the Bjorn, lol!

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
