cookie and pop pop surprised pratt with a swing set a few weeks ago. but for about a week, it sat in the box. from lowes. in a million and twenty six pieces.
and so this past weekend while pratt was gone, clint put it all together.
needless to say, every day since sunday, we've been out to the swing set. i'm trying to get him to understand that i'm only allowing play from 7 am to 9 am. and from about 6 pm until around 8 pm. it's just too hot out there. for me and for him. today we went around 12, and we had to use the water hose on the slide. it's unbearable. and i'm just too chubby.
here are a few pictures from yesterday morning.
he's so skinny. i'm not sure he will ever weigh more than 27 pounds.
so thanks again cookie and pop pop. we love the swing set. tonight i asked him what his favorite part of today was. his answer? "my new swing set, mommy!"

first prayer.
We pray at dinnertime. Always. Sometimes it's a small, personal prayer from daddy. Sometimes it's, "God is great, God is good..."
But it's always something. We should do it at every meal. I guess we are always sitting together for dinner. And so it's standard then.
Tonight Pratt said his very own prayer. Without any help. Without any prompting.
And I know we aren't supposed to peek...but I couldn't help it. And when I saw his chubby little hands...I just had to get a picture.
So I will remember forever.

We were eating spaghetti. He made the garlic bread. He poked holes with his little fingers. And smeared the bread with lots of butter. And pretty much dumped an entire bottle of garlic powder on each piece.
And it tasted fantastic.
I love him so very much. Moments like these make my heart feel as though it could explode.

week 39.
Highlights of this week regarding my pregnancy:
It takes me a solid 3 minutes to get out of my bed the 12 times I get up to void at night. I push myself up. Then sit and catch my breath with my kegs hanging over the edge. Then I push myself off the bed and waddle to pee.
Pratt has started telling random people, "my mommy pees even more when she stands up. Only then is her badder (bladder) really empty".
I'm really looking forward to a stiff drink.
If clint starts running or doing p90x before I birth this child of his, I'm gonna kill him.
Pratt's behavior has been perfect the past 2 days. It's like he knows things are about to change. So he's getting all his "good" out.
I'm pretty sure I have a DVT in my right leg. Clint says I'm crazy. But I'm serious.

Other highlights of the week...
Pratt as: King of the Forest.

His first taste of honeysuckle.

The beautiful roses that grow in our yard. Thank you to the previous home owners.

Pratt's first ballpark trip to see Coleman, Leyton and Carter play ball.

I was helping Pratt draw with sidewalk chalk when I looked down and saw this...

That's my "belly button" sticking out under my blue t-shirt. Hot. I know.
As is this...my new balancing act.

Using his bug box to find those big, black, hairy, chubby caterpillars. I won't let him touch them. Because I'm pretty sure they are poisonous.

I'm exhausted. And tired of hurting. But I'm reminded daily how easy this has been.
Happy day!

pratt's vaca.
may 5th was our anniversary. we had initially planned to be out of town this past weekend. clint had a ce course and i was going to tag along too. nancy was keeping pratt. when i asked her to keep him, i didn't realize it was her and randy's anniversary too. i'm usually really good about these things. dates, anniversarys, etc. i'm blaming my pregnancy. anyway, she never mentioned that (of course not because she and my mother would keep him whenever/wherever)...and said they would love to keep him.
our trip fell through. my doctor didn't really want me traveling this late in the game. and the ce course was cancelled. so while pratt went on vacation, clint and i stayed home. he put together a swingset. and i cleaned this ENTIRE house. like, top to bottom, left to right. just pick a surface and eat off it. i bet i threw away 5 bags of clutter. nesting, is what i thought. but still no baby. so idk.
here are some pictures of p that i received over the weekend. i hope that he never, ever forgets this trip. i am completely certain that nancy and randy won't. i think the three of them had a blast :) no, i take that back. i KNOW they had a blast.
calamari for dinner at joe's crab shack. pratt keeps telling me that nana asked for a hermit crab here, but they didn't have any. (as he puts his hands up in the air, like, "idk why joe's crab shack didn't have hermit crabs OF ALL THINGS?!) pratt doesn't yet grasp the difference between crabs :) to him, they should all be hermit crabs :)
according to nana, if he ate all his dinner, he got a spongebob ice cream novelty. that's all he needed to hear. i bet he stuffed his cheeks like a chipmunk. and those eyes COULD NOT look more like his daddy's here.
they took a trip to the butterfly garden. which to him, is heaven on earth. he has told me a million times since his return, "this butterfly it landed on my shirt!" and then he falls out laughing.
this last picture breaks my heart. why is my baby old enough to play put put!?
sunday they rode go carts and rode on a water ride. oh, and they went to the dixie stampede! where pratt got a big american flag that he likes to swing around. and he saw buffalo, too! seriously. i'm jealous of the trip. why couldn't i go!?
nancy and randy, thank you again for the trip. i know you both say that you had the best time...but really, i think pratt did. thank you for giving us the weekend to ourselves. it will be a long time before that happens again...maybe never with two :)
happy tuesday!

meet bubble gun. it makes noise. lights up. and blows bubbles. in my best napoleon dynamite voice, pratt would say, "it's pretty much my favorite toy ever!"

38 week appt.
This is what it looks like to be 38 weeks pregnant and swollen. And not have a SINGLE shirt long/big enough to fit over your gigantic belly. That everyone is staring at. Or moving out of the way for.
Yes, people. I'm pregnant. No. Its not a sideshow. No. You don't need to walk backwards to get out of my way.
Oh. And I'm pretty sure I have a DVT in my left leg. For serious. Well, kinda serious.
Ugh.
I'm still at a 2. I will see a doctor Thursday of next week. Not mine. He's out all week. But I'm scheduled to be induced on my due date. Thursday, the 19th. He's on call the 16th and 19th. And I really want him to deliver this baby. Because I think he's great. And funny. And nice. And he's cute too.
Wanna see something not cute?

Check out those cankles, baby!!! Woot woot! And that underbelly. Awesome stuff.
Now for the real cutie...

And the other cutie. Who is being spoiled by nana this weekend!

Happy Friday!!

outside.
I love nothing more than how happy being outside makes my little boy.
Toss in his daddy's presence...and you've got his definition of heaven on earth.

I bet he hopped on and off that lawnmower 15 times. Clint never complained. Pratt smiled the entire time and even got to steer :)

"a grasshopper, mom!!!"
Found while they were mowing. Because pratt's ability to find bugs is freaky.

Just so I never forget what these spring nights are like...
Pratt picking up any and all bugs and clint mowing the lawn.

As Pratt said yesterday, "spring has sprung, mommy!"

- i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
