family farm.

we went on pratt's first school related field trip today.  to family farm in malvern.

i just cannot express how special this trip was.  for the first time, i witnessed the class prayer.  their drumroll chant about show and tell.  and all the other little small things that make jolly time preschool so special.

when we first enrolled him there, EVERYONE and i do mean everyone told me how "special" that preschool was.  and how much we would LOVE his teachers.  i didn't know what they meant until today.

the way they said their special jolly time prayer.  let me see if i can remember it...

thank you for the food we eat, thank you for the friends we meet, thank you for our homes and families.  thank you god for everything.  amen.

hearing that prayer in those sweet 3 and 4 year old voices sent me over the edge.  uh huh.  that's right.  i cried.  at the family farm.  on the field trip.  poor pratt.  he has THAT mom.

before that there was a sicilian donkey.  at the farm.  and he has a cross on his back.  because apparently that was the donkey that carried mary before she had jesus.  so i cried at that.

pratt is just so impressionable.  he's a sponge these days.  and so it warms my heart to know that these are the people he is surrounded by two days a week.  we are blessed beyond measure.  that's for sure.

oh, and one other thing.  and i know i shouldn't put this down on paper because as soon as i hit post, he will inevitably go rob a bank or punch his brother or something equally horrific.  BUT.  he was so good today.  and for the first time in a long time i saw him as a grown up little guy.  as a kid who doesn't throw fits.  he obeys.  and wants to do good.  he followed the rules.  he was so respectful.

all good things.  and for a second, i wanted to take credit.

but i know it's not really me.  it's his entire family.  it's those that we surround ourselves with.

he's lucky.  we're lucky.  i'm most lucky to be his momma.

pratt, i love you.  you are my favorite 4 year old.
xoxo, mom

He is such a good little boy and so polite, kind and helpful . He is this way because he has a mom and dad who teach him and a mom that spends lots of quality with him. He is very lucky to have a good preschool and one that he loves.

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
