Yook mom!

So Pratt sits here and looks over to me. And in a sing song voice says, "yook mommy! One shoe off and one shoe on! I'm yike yittle John!"

It took me about 15 seconds...and then it hit me.

"dittle dittle dumpling, my son John. Went to bed with his stockings on. One shoe off and
One shoe on, dittle dittle dumpling, my son john!"

He's heard it twice. In the mother goose nursery rhyme book at my parents condo.

He never ever ever forgets anything. Scary...

hi ho cherry-o!

Pratt is his father's child. In many ways. Especially in his love for board games.

Anytime we are with my parents and sister and Tyler, we play games. And my dad secretly despises board games. But he plays because he loves clint. And I think secretly...he loves the games ;)

Anyway, mom bought pratt hi ho cherry-o this weekend. He got it when Max got his baby shower gifts.

We played tonight as a family. Needless to say, Pratt loved it. And he won!!! Like, he for real won!

two squares.

pratt often holds something up to his ear and acts like he's talking on the phone.  most of the time, it's "miss 'tacy" talking to him.

today while i was getting ready (which let me say that "getting ready" means standing naked in my closet looking at all my many clothes wondering what i'm gonna stretch over my big ole butt.  wondering if i will ever wear anything that doesn't roll down under my belly again.  and wishing that i could just go out in public with my husbands t-shirts and pajama pants on...anyway...), i heard him "talking" on the phone.

he was in our room.  so i didn't know what he was using as the phone.

what i heard was this...

yes.  she's in the baf-room.  she going potty.  she goes potty all the time, miss 'tacy.  sometimes she goes poop and i not like to go in there.  but most of the time, she just pee.  she pee all the time.  and she only uses two squares.  i only use two squares to blow my nose.  i not use any squares to pee.

and then he pauses.  like he's waiting on a response.  which totally makes me think that he might really have my phone and he might really be on the phone with stacy.  and that he might really be discussing my bowel habits with one of my best friends.  OR that he might really be on my phone with a stranger.  like a random number.  which is of course, WAY WORSE.

i run into my room and he's standing there, holding a plastic easter egg (opened up) up at his ear.  he like moves the bottom part down, under his chin and talks over it and says...

hey mom.  it's miss 'tacy.  she says hi.

i just fell out laughing.  he smiled.  which made his little eyes close up.  and i realized how in reality, he's only 2.  but sometimes i look at him and could swear he was 20.

time really needs to stop.

38 weeks.

First. Me, at 38 weeks.

I'm gigantic. And can't stop urinating. Or complaining. Or wondering how my friend Laura went OVER her due date by like a million days. She's a saint. That's all I can come up with.

Pratt doesn't get "I dont feel good." he totally doesn't understand why I can't look for worms in the flower bed with him. He says, "oh. You not get up once you sit down!?"

He really doesn't need my help in finding bugs. This is his little hand holding the smallest snail I've ever seen. It's the size of a match head. And he found it in the dirt.

Oh yeah. I threw up in a mcdonalds cup today while driving. That was pretty awesome. I also asked Pratt to please stop talking. Because I thought my ears were going to bleed. This was about 10 minutes prior to my yak in the cup episode.

I hope your Tuesday is as awesome as mine! Yippee!!

first boat ride of 2011.

This weekend while at mom and dad's, we took our first boat ride of the season.

Pratt enjoyed the lake last summer. But this summer....well, he may never leave. That's good. Because I want him to be comfortable on the boat and in the water.

He kept saying to my dad, "pop pop, this is the best boat ride ever!"

Now we just need clint to go too. So the boys can fish.

easter afternoon.

after church on easter, we headed to searcy to have lunch with nana, papaw, grandma, grandpa and the rest of the family.

pratt loves playing with his cousins.  and being in the woods.  and seeing all the fam.  i'll say this.  his pants WERE white.  they are again...after lots of work in the laundry room :)

this is my favorite picture of the two of them....

i love clint's family.  and i'm so lucky that they love us back.

easter morning.

i'm playing catch up because of several reasons.

one.  clint was on a fishing trip this weekend, which allowed me and pratt an entire vacation weekend at my parents in hot springs.  it was so nice.  pratt gets to do whatever he asks (because everyone knows that grandparents don't say "no") and i get to sit and watch bethenny ever after while the three of them go on bug hunts.  it's pretty much exactly what the doctor ordered.

two. our electricity has been out four times in three weeks.  at one point, it was out for almost 4 solid days.  it went out again yesterday around 3 when a tree fell.  and didn't come back on until sometime early this morning.  like around 4 am.

so it's taken me forever to get these posted.  they are from easter morning.

one of my most favorite memories is waking up to the easter bunny having been at our house.  leaving eggs full of candy.  and sometimes dollar bills!  this year, the easter bunny didn't disappoint pratt.  he left him eggs here...in the front yard.  and the coolest part was that we were about 3/4 of the way through the hunt when we spotted a little bunny hopping toward the woods.  pratt and i both flipped!  we decided he was making sure we found each egg he left.

never too busy to stop and find bugs.  spiders, ants, ladybugs.  you name it, we hold it.

this was a ladybug we found.  it's green in color.  and i'm pretty sure it was one of the ones we raised and released.  they never turned fully red.

pop pop will be so proud of this hiding place for the egg.  the easter bunny at our house always left eggs in tires.  always.

here are ace and the next door neighbor's dog chasing after the easter bunny.

we had a lovely easter.  hope you did too!

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
