pratt and i asked the boss for a sick day today. dad said okay.
last night around 1030, i heard pratt coughing. i went over to the monitor and saw him standing up in bed. this was weird. so i watched for a while. i saw him grab his pillow and then lay back down. so i turned the video off and got back in bed. started visiting with clint again, and then we both heard an odd sound. sort of a cough/choke.
i decided then to walk in and check on him.
my sweet baby was standing up in bed with his arms extended crying. i picked him up and as soon as i did, i smelled it. vomit.
it took ALL OF ME to not throw up right there. i'm my fathers child in that i will begin gagging and not stop until i fill the room with lysol.
i'll spare you the details other than to say that that poor little fella threw up 5 times in 1.5 hours. by the 5th time, there was nothing left in his stomach.
i hate throwing up. i would rather have my toenails ripped off one by one and be dunked in a vat of rubbing alcohol than throw up. this is my dad's fault. i learned to hate it from him.
instead of just throwing up, my dad puts his right foot up on the toilet seat and both his hands on the back of the toilet (if you know him, this is so funny). he does this really loud gagging sound and then just sort of scream/yells while he throws up. it's so violent. if you didn't know what he was doing, you would probably think he was dying.
well, that's pretty much how i feel about it. i don't stand on the toilet or anything, but i HATE it. and so does my son. and so because he can't verbalize, he would start to throw up and then just lean into us. right into our laps. there was no warning. but by the 4th time, i started listening for the gurgle. i'm good, i tell ya.
we went to the er and were given zofram. i don't know who invented zofram, but whoever did is up there on the level with dr. marc weissbluth. the donate-a-heifer-in-his-name sort of level.
we aren't (currently) dealing with vomit anymore...but it's the other end. yay! great! super!
i'm saving those extra zofran. those things are the new phenergan suppositories. woot woot.
here is my little man watching veggie tales. can you tell how bad he feels. i couldn't get a single "cheese!". bless his heart.
