the fourwheeler.

so i'd say he really likes the fourwheeler. well, both he and his daddy really like the fourwheeler.

he kept saying, "oh! oh! oh!" as you can tell by his little mouth here. so funny.

once clint took him off, he wanted back on again.

pretty sure as soon as pratt is old enough to ride safely, i won't see these two except for at dinnertime.

pratt's first gsc.

certain things are so noteworthy that i get out a camera and make my child pose.

like, his first use of a sippy cup. or his first steps. or even the first time he goes number two in the potty. yes, i'll take a picture of the act, and a picture of the number two. uh huh. sure will.

well, today, today something else noteworthy happened.

pratt had his first girl scout cookie.

a trefoil. tagalongs are my favorite, but i thought maybe a trefoil would be best for him at this point. if you start out with the tagalongs, you got nowhere to go but down. tis true.

can you tell he loved them?

he did. they are now sitting on his very own bottom shelf in the pantry. we shall see how long they last. my tagalongs will most likely be gone by tuesday.

dear pratt.

dear pratt,

today your daddy went to get a new fourwheeler. he had to drive to hope to meet someone there to buy it. he has asked for several days if you and i could go with him. i didn't really know if you would ride in the car for several hours without being fussy. i know how much you like to walk around and move, so i was worried.

well, this morning around 830, i was getting you dressed to go to kroger with me. dad was getting ready to head to hope.

he came in and said, "okay. can he go with me? i want him to go with me."

and so i caved. we made a goodie bag for you. goldfish, apple slices and a cutie. and a water cup. and you two headed out. oh, and dad put your dvd player in his truck.

he just sent me a text message that said,

subject: had to

stop to eat. be home soon. we love you.

and here was the picture he attached,

when i got the picture, i started to cry. i'm not sure why.

maybe because of how big you look. maybe because you have your own mcdonalds kids meal cup. and chicken nuggets. mcdonalds are my favorite chicken nuggets. (and coco's too.)

or maybe it's because not too long ago, i would see dad's with their kids at mcdonalds, and i would think, one day maybe i'll be lucky enough to have that.

i got lucky. i got lucky to find your daddy.

you love him so much already. but as you grow, you will realize he is, hands down, one of the best men you will ever know.

i love you little guy. even more than i love mcdonalds chicken nuggets with hot mustard.

mommy.

dear pratt.

dear pratt,

we have had such a wonderful day today. we took a trip to target to get shampoo (amongst other things) for me and dad. we tried on hats while we were there, because that is one of your favorite things to do. yes, it is. and we took the 5 dollars that your nana sent in your valentine's card and bought you a special treat.

before we even made it to the toy aisle, you saw a little girl with a gigantic ball. a pink one. and you kept going, "ball! ball! maaa! ball!" and that settled it. a ball it would be.

so we got you a big blue one. so thank you nana :)

we then headed to the library. my favorite place in the entire world. and i'm proud to say, you LOVE it too. yippee!!! we met a little girl there today. her name was isabella. she was a sweet little girl. she was 4. and with her grandmother.

she helped you pick out some books and we sat in the toddler's corner and read. you tend to pick out books with animals on the cover. she did too. the two of you really hit it off. she helped you put together a few puzzles too.

we rented a new veggie tales movie, and then headed to la hacienda for lunch. you sat by carter and had a big time. you never tried to get out of your highchair, which is a minor miracle, and i think due in part to carter's presence.

also, miss amber came over and held you and i think you might like her more than you like me. you just kept smiling at her. she's pretty awesome. she's one of those great souls that makes you instantly feel at home. like you've known her forever. an easy friend. they are the greatest. i hope you have many of them.

you're napping now. and have been since 1230. when you wake, we will go eat pizza with the harris kids.

i love you so much.

a little something.

i keep forgetting to say this. and it's too cute to forget.

pratt gets better and better at understanding inflection with our voices. now, you can say something to him. like, "let's go downstairs and see if the mail has come yet."

and in response to what we've said, he will go, "oooooo!". just an "o" sound, but it's long and drawn out. and so stinkin' cute.

i bet i kiss his face 200 times a day. maybe 300. maybe even 400.

a mini e.cullen.

my sweet, sweet husband who gives the best gifts ever surprised me on vd with adobe photoshop. i've mentioned on here that i wanted to get it. and that i was saving up money for it. but you see, clint knows me well enough to know that savings and hannah are not two words that go together. i mean, come on. why save when you can buy things now? right?! right!? (my husband just fainted.)

one week into photoshop and i have a whole new respect for photographers. i used to think, "oh whatever. it can't be that hard. you just brighten stuff up. and then you charge 300 for an 8 by 10." wrong, wrong, wrong.

but i'll eventually get the hang of it. it's just going to take some more work/time. which i will happily give. because i LOVE taking pictures with our camera. and i really think pratt will cherish all the pictures. let's hope so.

here is my first picture. after i looked at this, i thought, "man that totally reminds me of someone." and it hit me when i was telling whit about it. edward cullen.

glowing. he's glowing. awesome.

dear pratt.

dear pratt,

we go to a little Bible study called "moms n more" on tuesdays. it's fantastic. and you like it too.

yesterday during our study, i was sitting right next to one of our teachers. her name is miss ellen. she had her Bible out, and i noticed it had writing in it. all over it. on the pages. some scripture was underlined. some was highlighted. and it truly looked like it had happened over the course of many years.

soon after noticing it, she mentioned to the class that this was one of her daughters Bibles. well, it would eventually be her daughter's. but right now, she used it. she prayed with it, for her daughter. she made notes in it. prayers. etc.

as i sat there listening to her, i got pretty emotional. this is nothing new. but something hit me.

how great for you to know one day all the prayers i prayed for you. over the course of our lives.

i remember the first time your daddy told me that he prayed for me. it was just in conversation. he mentioned it one day. when he told me that he had gone for a run and prayed for me the entire time.

did i know already that your daddy prayed for me? yes. absolutely. but hearing it from him...having him tell me about it...well, that's just taking it to a totally different place.

ellen said that when her own mother passed away, she found a stack of Bibles that her mother used to pray for each child. she had never mentioned to her children that she did this. and ellen went on to say that her mother never flaunted her religion or her feelings or prayers. but that as she flipped through the pages, and saw her mothers prayers and notes, she realized that her mother was a woman who lived the Word. she talked the talk and she walked the walk.

i promise to start something like this for you. i was given a Bible in high school or maybe it was for college. yes, i think that was it. it was given to me by my parents. and i'm going to make that yours. so it's now officially pratt's Bible.

someday i will give it to you. and i hope you find joy in seeing how your simple little mom prayed big prayers for you.

i love you so much.

then Jesus answered, "woman, you have great faith! your request is granted." and her daughter was healed from that very hour. matthew 15: 28

About Me

My photo
i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
