dear pratt,
it's almost 8 pm. you're just now getting a bath. dad and i had sonic for dinner...that's why we're behind on our schedule. it was in hopes of getting the razorback cup...only they were out. boo.
anyway, dad is giving you a bath and i want you to always remember the songs he sings as he bathes you...let's see.
one goes like this, "bathtub, bathtub...what do i do? i like to sit and play inside you!"
and then there is the chant, "clean my booty...clean, clean my booty!"
i cannot wait for you to really know him. you will laugh at him all.the.time.
and he will embarrass you more times than you'll ever be able to count. like the time he wore his jeans tucked into his cowboy boots in memphis just to prove a point to me. oh man.
we love you.
your daddy loves you so much he makes up little songs for you. what a lucky boy you are.
love, mommy.

new pictures.
here are a few pictures i've been meaning to upload.
pratt loves yoda. yoda...well, she tolerates pratt. that's an excellent word for it. lately, he will just spot her and start laughing. he'll immediately start crawling toward her...and i can just read her mind. it's like this, (and if you have been lucky enough to know yoda...you know this is true), "seriously. it's that kid again. his hands always smell like fruit juice and he constantly tries to pull my fur. i will be so glad when he goes home."
poor cat.
these are two pictures i got the other night right after his bath. yes, that is the reason his hair is so greasy looking. because it's wet. not because it's dirty. i promise.

here is pratt with his favorite "rocking" person. daddy has spoiled this baby in that he now expects to be rocked to sleep every night. and let me just say that he isn't always ready at 8. this is totally messing up my routine. oh well. time flies...one day i'll wish he were still small enough to rock. i know, i know.

and since pratt was just a little bitty baby, he has had this habit of putting his two middle fingers in his mouth. at first, i was worried about what it was going to do to his teeth. and while that is still concerning to me...we do know a great dentist...and well, it's helpful for me because this means he's either hungry or tired.
as evidence by the grip on his little blanket...i'd say he's sleepy in these pictures. so, so sweet. those gigantic eyes. i love him so much.

and finally. i've always dreamed of a little curly headed baby. looks like my dream came true. sweet, sweet boy.

a scary story.
http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/20247430/detail.html
so, what do i do?
this is a story brought to my attention by another blogger friend of mine. she and her husband have decided to take their family blog private after seeing this story on fox 16 last night.
i'm private...but i'm on facebook. and well, facebook is probably the devil. another friend of mine recently started deleting friends on facebook because she said she had so many...and didn't really "know" all of them. you know, she'd met them...maybe went to high school with them, etc...but didn't really need them to be seeing her baby...or knowing where she lived...you get the picture.
so she started deleting friends. she had over 1500...or more than that. it was wild.
well, i'm concerned, not because i have that many friends...but because now (if i'm understanding it correctly), when a friend of mine comments on my picture...then their friends (who are not friends of mine) can see that very picture. and from there...well, what happens then? that stranger can get my photo of my little boy and put it on craigslist as a kid needing a home. needing to be adopted. what kind of sicko...
anyway, i'm debating whether or not to quit facebook now. i know that's drastic, but come on. i'm willing to take drastic actions to keep something like this from happening. and yes, thinking it could happen to me...is probably self centered...but wouldn't i rather be safe than sorry?
what are your thoughts? i welcome any and all suggestions!
oh, and i've changed my settings so that facebook cannot "use" my photos..but does this really help the matter?

dear pratt.
dear pratt,
my favorite time with you is early in the morning. when i go in to get you from bed, you're always laying down, on your back...sucking your two middle fingers. when you see me, you immediately roll over on your belly and push your way up to sitting, and then immediately reach for the side of the crib so you can stand.
i say, "good morning!" in the most exaggerated voice i can muster that early (around 7...it's early...trust me)...and you smile. your eyes are always swollen. like you sleep really, really hard. i do the same thing. and your hair always looks like jack nicholson. fuzzy and wild. a lot like your poppy.
you put your arm around my neck and hold on as tight as you can while we walk down the stairs. we make a bottle and then sit on the couch together. i hold you as tight as you will allow. and constantly kiss the top of your head.
you still smell like johnson and johnson's bedtime bath...even 12 hours later. i bet i kiss the top of your head a million times a day.
after you've finished your bottle...well, you never really finish it...more like, after you've had about 5 ounces, you're ready to start the day.
you will push your bottle out of your mouth and point at the tv...the fireplace, the dog, the fan...anything and you'll tell me what it is. in your own...or maybe our own special language.
from there, you want down. you want to be independent.
it's at this point i realize how short life is. how fast you're growing. how i won't make it through your birthday party without crying. how i won't ever make it to your first day of kindergarten. i should just veto that now. i should just let your daddy do that. because i'll be that weirdo mom who sits outside the classroom door and just looks in and cries.
you love taking everything off trays, everything out of baskets, etc. if something has accumulated junk, you're the one who comes along and rips it all off and tosses it to the floor.
daddy has been working so hard on hanging drapes for me. and you LOVE his toolbox. last night, you took everything out of it.
we love you more than you will know. until you have a child of your own. and then you'll understand.
until then...just know we love you oodles and oodles.
and we always will.
no.matter.what.
love, mom.

sugar and spice.
the wedding...
oh where to begin?
the entire family...well, both families were there. the robinson clan and the pratt clan came down. so pratt got to meet everyone! i think he had met mom's side...but not dad's. so pratt...met the pratt's.
here are some pictures.
i didn't get any good pictures of spencer and tyler. it's extremely difficult when a. you're in the wedding...and b. you have a 10 month old child at the wedding.
pratt did really well. he ate lots of fruit and enjoyed his first sugar cookie from two smart cookies who...i would highly recommend! they are a company based in savannah, georgia. our next door neighbor jenny...her sister ices all the cookies for them. seriously...go check it out!
i'll add more pictures later today. i have to get a few things done around here before my little boy wakes up. sorry i've been so slow on the posting. i have lots and lots of ideas in my head.
lots and lots of "dear pratts". time is going by way too fast. and he is growing way too fast.
i had a breakdown at the dinner table last night. i started thinking about his birthday. and just broke down. sobbing and everything. clint just kind of looked at me. i think he was scared to move. didn't really know how i would react. it was horrible. i'm crying now just thinking about it.
okay. off to get things done. later alligators.

About Me
- hannah
- i'm a girl who likes to write. not a girl that's necessarily good at writing. it's cathartic, i think. and boy do i need that from time to time. i married a wonderful man named clint in may of 2007. he is everything i am not. he is calm. he makes plans. he is organized. his truck is always clean. his clothes are hung by types of shirt/color/size/etc. i'm full of nervous energy. i'm spur of the moment. i can't ever find what i'm looking for. we live in my car...pretty much. i'm lucky if my clothes are within ten feet of my closet. God gave us a precious angel of a baby in september of 2008. his name is pratt allen. he is 2.5 years old.we have another little one on the way. his name is max wesley. and he is due may 19th. somehow i'll be the mother of two boys. craaaaa.zy. i spend my days cleaning house. picking worms and caterpillars out of the flower beds. cooking meals. shopping at target. washing clothes. playing on the floor. reading books. doing puzzles. traveling to sonic. and the library. and blogging. i hope you enjoy our blog. feel free to leave a comment. hopefully it's a nice one. i tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
